Chicka Chicka 1 2 3 Block Party!

We read Chicka Chicka 1 2 3 and then played with blocks.  Some of the children made numbers with blocks.  Block Parties are at 6pm on Thursdays.  Starting April 23rd, Block Parties will be at 5:30pm on Wednesdays.  Please call or stop by the library for more information.

Join us for a celebration of Vincent van Gogh!

YouthQuake Explosion is hosting a special Vincent van Gogh themed art program for children who are in grades 4 and up!

Join us on Saturday, March 29 from 1:00 to 2:30. Children will explore one of the greatest painters who ever lived and create their version of one of his masterpieces to take home! Remember to come dressed to paint!

Registration is required. Limit 10 children. Call the Youth Services Department at 610-258-2917 ext. 306 to sign up!

Are you interested in joining YouthQuake Explosion?
YouthQuake Explosion is a teen advisory group at the library for teens in grades 7-12 who are bursting with creative ideas to make a difference at the library!

YQE plans programs and activities, produces annual web videos, and makes crafts to sell to benefit the library. Participation in the group is a great opportunity for young adults who need volunteer hours!

YQE meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30 - 7:30p.

Celebrate Black History Month!

In honor of Black History month, Oxford University Press will provide free access to its African American Studies Center, for the month of February.  The Oxford African American Studies Center is a rich collection of biographies compromised of influential figures as well as photo essays, featured articles, timelines, and various primary sources. Users will be encouraged to seek out primary documents, historical route maps, and a vast collection of images and multimedia spanning the presence of African-Americans in the United States.

A Life-Size Candyland game is coming February 15!

The Junior Friends of the Library are hosting Life-Size Candyland in which YOU get to be the game piece!
 
You'll decorate a goodie bag and become the playing pieces as you work your way through the game board and collect treats as you go! We're very excited to have a troop of local boy scouts to lend us a hand with all the fun activities!
 
Life-Size Candyland will take place on Saturday, February 15* from 2:30 - 4:30pm in the Catherine Drake Meeting Room.
 
You can choose a 30-minute time slot between 2:30 and 4:00pm. Children will be registered in groups of four in 15-minute intervals (2:00, 2:15, 2:45, 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, and 4:00). It will take approximately 30 minutes to go through the game from start to finish. Children will move through the game with the other children signed up for that time slot.
 
This program is for children ages 5-9 and is limited to a total of 28 children (4 per time slot).
 
Sign ups start January 31! Sign up early to make sure you can join in on the fun! Visit us at the library or give us a call at 610-258-2917 ext. 306.
 
*Due to a change in the Easton Area School District school schedule, the date has been moved from Friday, February 14 to Saturday, February 15.

Room still available in Family Game Night!

There is still space available in the Family Games Night on Tuesday, January 14 at 6:30!

The Junior Friends of the Library are joining with the adult Friends to present this special Family Games Night!

While adults are playing board, card, and trivia games, children will enjoy games of their own! Options will be Charades, Headband, Uno, chess, Connect 4 Launcher, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and a special library book scavenger hunt created by the Junior Friends. Children will be able to choose which games to play and enjoy refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library.

This program is appropriate for children ages 6-12. Registration is required and is limited to 20 children. Call or visit the Main Library to sign up! 610-258-2917 ext. 306
